Val-Dieu Abbey Grand Cru Quad 330ml

Val-Dieu Grand Cru is a dark, full-bodied quadrupel with a long finish, stronger than the brewery's tripel, which is often golden in colour. This beer has a surprising number of flavours and scents, many of which are faint and delicate, such as a light orange perfume. Caramel notes blend perfectly with somewhat bitter coffee scents under a café crème-coloured head. The Gileppe reservoir provides local soft water, which is employed in a traditional infusion procedure that entails adding hot water to the mash until it reaches 75°C. At this temperature, starches are released, which will be turned into sugars to fuel the yeast in the next stage. For the main fermentation, the brewery utilises its own yeast, which is developed in-house and produces fruity fragrances in the finished product.
