Black Heart Brewery was born after two health professionals decided to brew beer in their downtime. Robin Brown, a cardiothoracic surgeon by day, and Brad Schultz, a perfusionist (the person responsible for running the heart–lung bypass machine during an operation) have been running the brewery in its entirety themselves, literally just the two of them!
But, also, unfortunately, the demands and needs of their day jobs have forced them to arrive at the difficult decision to shut the brewery and focus on saving lives. I guess we can't begrudge them for that. Especially since we can offer you one of their finest beers at a price that you will never see again.
