Ballistic Sleep When You're Dead Trans-Tasman DIPA 375ml Can

We love West Coast IPAs, especially Double IPAs. We love Kiwi hops. We love NSW grown malts from Voyager Craft Malt. When considering all of these factors it made sense to combine all them all into one very special IPA. A no holds barred Double IPA that proudly demonstrates the unique raw materials produced on either side of the Tasman.

The first consideration was malt. Pale Schooner was an easy pick to form the backbone of this big IPA. We have long been enamoured by the profile of NZ’s latest hop superstar; Nectaron (formerly HORT4337). As its name implies, Nectaron exhibits bright stonefruit characteristics. In support we chose to use two of New Zealand’s heavy hitters; Nelson Sauvin and Rakau. These hops are no strangers to big IPAs and offer so much depth, complex fruit characteristics and a fair whack of dank, diesel vibes to boot.

The result is a Double IPA that offers bright notes of peach, passionfruit, citrus and gooseberry atop deep underlying notes of dank pine and diesel. The malt base offers a simple and subtle profile characterised by sweet breadiness, toast and caramel whilst finishing dry to emphasise the hops.
